Seeking Medical Opinion

How to choose?

According to the HK Mental Morbidity Survey done in 2013, of the 11% of youth diagnosed with common mood disorders, merely 15% will seek out medical help. Common mood disorders, if left untreated, can develop into more severe mental illnesses that can impair a person’s mental development, functionality and sociability.

Looking for medical help can be a daunting task, especially when inflicted with mental illnesses that are more complex. The process can also be held back by culture, family and financial limitations. Listening and monitoring these young individuals with care can pave the way for effective consultation and treatment. Prevention is always better than a cure.
